Crestapol® 1261 Urethane Acrylate Resin

Crestapol 1261 is a modified version of Crestapol 1260, a low viscosity urethane acrylate resin designed for infusion and resin transfer moulding processes. This resin has an extended open/work time, with a standard geltime of 60 minutes compared to 1260’s 30 minutes, making it ideal for larger applications that require a longer production process.

Similarly to Crestapol 1260, Crestapol 1261 has excellent strength and toughness, as well as water and hydrolysis resistance, excellent mechanical performance and high temperature performance. It is compatible with carbon fibre reinforcement materials and general-purpose sizing agents and has variable cycle times to suit specific requirements.

This resin should reach room temperature before curing can begin. The process requires both a catalyst and an accelerator to be thoroughly dispersed within the resin to start and then has a working time of 40-50 minutes. Satisfactory laminates can be produced with a room temperature post cure, however higher temperatures will produce a fuller cure.

Crestapol 1261 should be stored between 5°C and 20°C in their original containers, supplied by Scott Bader in 25kg, 200kg and 1000kg sizes. For optimum performance, they should be stored away from direct sunlight and oxidising agents. Contact us today to find out more or place your order.
