Global Charitable Fund

The Scott Bader Charitable Fund aims to annually identify and provide grants to smaller charitable organisations local to Scott Bader around the world.  The charities key purpose should be to help young or disadvantaged people, especially anyone suffering deprivation and discrimination, such as poor, homeless and vulnerable women and children, minority communities, particularly where people are affected by: poverty, a lack of education, malnutrition and disease.  Our Global Charity Fund is divided into two categories.

Local Funds

Charity funding for smaller local charities is divided between all the companies within the Scott Bader Group around the world, shared out in proportion to the number of people employed at each of our locations. Each Scott Bader organisation locally decides which charities to support in line with our Commonwealth guidelines.

Central Fund

The central fund annually supports two large, community based, environmental or educational projects to the value of £25,000 each.  These can be located anywhere in the world where a Scott Bader company is operating.  If you have an education or environmental project that benefits young or disadvantaged people or a particularly deserving community project that you would like us to consider, please download and read the attached document.

Application & Selection
The process for large project applications for consideration in 2010 is as follows:
 
  • Stage 1 - All applications for 2010 must be received by: 26th February 2010.
  • Stage 2 - By end May 2010 complete selection of final four short-listed charities to go to a vote.
  • Stage 3 - In July 2010 meeting, Commonwealth Members vote on their two preferred projects.
  • Stage 4 - By end July2010, money will be made available to the two selected charity projects.

DUE TO LIMITED FUNDS WE REGRET WE ARE NOT ABLE TO SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING:

  • Animal Charities
  • Individual Sponsorships
  • Travel or Adventure schemes
  • Arts Projects
  • Construction/renovation/maintenance of buildings in the UK
  • Any form of advertising
  • Medical research and Equipment
  • Sports Club
  • General charitable appeals
  • Charities not based in the countries where Scott Bader has a presence;  this limits our support to only charities located in the UK, Eire, France, Sweden, Spain, Czech Republic, Croatia, Dubai, South Africa, USA or China.
