Making a Corporate Commitment 2 (MACC2)
MACC2 is a UK government-based initiative that encourages companies to make top-level commitments to setting quantified targets for improving resource efficiency and environmental performance.
To take part in MACC2 participants need to declare reductions in one or more of the following areas: - Greenhouse gas emissions
- Waste production
- Water usage
Scott Bader has committed to make reductions in all 3 of these areas.
The following targets have been set : (based on 1998 figures and per ton of product produced).- to reduce general waste by 25% by 2003
- to reduce water consumption by 10%
- to reduce CO2 emissions by 12.5% by 2010
- to reduce the amount of liquid polymer waste we dispose by 13.6%
- to reduce the amount of liquid solvent waste we dispose by 10% (based on 1999 figures)
Scott Bader has also introduced a Biodiversity Action Plan and included it in the MACC2 commitment.
