Our Social Impact
At the heart of the Scott Bader ethos is making life better for our communities, colleagues and families
Each year a donation is given to Scott Bader Commonwealth to support charitable activities and projects around the world. Below are descriptions of the funds and some of the charities that have been supported.
To ensure social impact stays at the forefront of our activities, all of our global sites have Commonwealth Coordinators who regularly meet to discuss their community issues and activities, share best practice and encourage colleagues around the world to engage with their local communities.
Charitable giving
Every year, a minimum of 5% of Scott Bader’s operating profit is given to the Commonwealth to be donated to charitable activities and projects around the world, structured in the following ways:
Global Impact Fund
This fund was first introduced in 2022 as a one off to recognise our Centenary year, it was renamed in 2023 and is now known as the Global Impact Fund. We invite charities to apply for £25,000 to support four community based environmental/educational projects that benefit young/disadvantaged people and address a significant social need where they are situated.
'Glocal' strategy fund
A ‘think globally, act locally’ approach where each site receives an allocation based on the number of colleagues to enable them to support local projects that address social and environmental issues.
Godric Bader Fund
A fund that is awarded to charities in honour of Godric Bader, our former Life President.
