CSK and Scott Bader create the world’s first hydrogen-powered boat

The project

CSK planned to create a low emission solution for the production and operation of small recreational boats. The project included the creation of the hull of a small boat up to 6m that meets displacement, capacity, stability, strength and safety requirements. Leveraging our long standing partnership, Scott Bader met the challenge using our range of marine grade Crystic resins, gelcoats and Crestomer structural adhesive.

Our solution

Scott Bader put its technical expertise to work, using low-emission technologies which included infused laminates manufactured from our renowned Crystic VE679-03PA resin and LS30PA gelcoat. The project combined environmental, social and commercial aspects; reducing emissions during the construction of the boat, increasing the availability of hydrogen in marinas and creating a simple construction that’s easy to manufacture and therefore produces less waste.
