Scott Bader offset their carbon emissions for 2020
As part of our Centenary celebrations and 2036 vision, in May, we committed to offsetting our Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions for 2020.
Following our commitment, we are delighted to say we have now officially offset our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions with World Land Trust (WLT):
These funds will be invested in the protection of threatened tropical forests where WLT is working through local project partners to protect biologically important habitats throughout the world. WLT’s Carbon Balanced portfolio currently includes projects in Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and Vietnam.
Scope 1 emissions – all direct emissions from the activities of Scott Bader that are under our control.
Scope 2 – indirect emissions from electricity, steam, heating or cooling purchased and used by Scott Bader.
Scott Bader’s commitment to offset our carbon emissions comes in our Centenary year. However, we have committed to offset our carbon emissions every year moving forward and set a target of a 60% reduction in carbon emissions by 2025.
These commitments are part of our Ecology pillar, one of the three pillars Scott Bader is built on. Our three pillars of Business, Ecology and Humanity combine to form our 2036 vision of becoming a fully sustainable company.
