As an inverse emulsion thickener, Texipol 63-258 is a pre-neutralised dispersion that provides almost instantaneous thickening to aqueous-based compositions. It imparts a highly pseudoplastic rheology with a viscosity of >100,000 mPa-s.
This rheology modifier is suitable for use in a number of water-based adhesives and coatings, including anionic bituminous coatings, shoe creams and textured coating systems. It is supplied in drums and IBCs as the ammonium salt of an acrylic polymer and does not require the addition of other neutralisers or additives to promote thickening.
As with most of our Texipol thickeners, 63-258 is most efficient at pH>7, although it can be used for mildly acidic systems as well. It should be stored between 5°C and 30°C, in its original unopened container and protected from freezing or direct sunlight.
