Scott Bader Commonwealth and Intakemazolo: Investing in Education for the Future

19/03/2026
Imogen Prior
In November 2025, Scott Bader, through the Commonwealth, proudly donated ZAR 164,000 (approximately GBP £8,000) to Intakemazolo Combined School in Hammarsdale, South Africa. This contribution funded the purchase of 15 new desktop computers, significantly enhancing the school’s learning environment.
Located near Scott Bader’s South African plant, Intakemazolo Combined School has built a strong reputation for education and innovation. It was the first school in the area to offer Computer Applications Technology (CATS) as a subject at high school level. Prior to the donation, the school had just 10 computers available for a class of around 40 pupils.
The additional computers have expanded access to digital learning, helping students develop essential skills for their futures.

On Thursday, 5 February 2025, the school hosted a special event to celebrate both the official launch of its very first Matric class and the support from the Scott Bader Commonwealth. The occasion brought together key representatives from Scott Bader South Africa and the local community, including:
Vishen Kanhai, Site Director
Jane Ngubane, Commonwealth Representative in South Africa
Angel Nyathikazi, Simunye Council Chairperson
Anneline Pillay, Former Simunye Council Chairperson
As part of the initiative, Scott Bader also provided educational packs to the Matric students, further supporting their academic journey at this important milestone.
By supporting schools like Intakemazolo, Scott Bader Commonwealth continues to live its Core Values by making a positive difference within our local communities.
