Scott Bader colleagues across the world are entitled to an additional day’s leave every year to use for voluntary purposes. Last year, colleagues gave 953 hours to volunteering – this year we expect it will be even more!
To celebrate UK Volunteers’ Week we have used site screens at our head office in Wollaston, Northamptonshire to focus on volunteering including colleague volunteering stories and opportunities.
A group of colleagues have used this week to finalise plans for a Scott Bader ‘Community Volunteering Day’ on Friday 21st June. This is a day giving UK colleagues the opportunity to take part in volunteering activities, working together in teams, for the benefit of the local community. Other Scott Bader sites will be holding similar volunteering days; for example colleagues in the US will be having a ‘cleaning up their neighbourhood day’ at the end of June.
We are always on the look-out for suitable volunteering opportunities for individuals or small groups of colleagues. If there are any registered charities local to any Scott Bader site globally – please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you about how we could help!
Scott Bader UK is proud to be a member of The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).
